LAUREN NICHOLSON / MELBOURNE
She has been making pictures for many rotations of the sun and likes to experiment with mediums ranging from watercolour, ink, pencil, collage and digital illustration to create layered imagery repurposing found images to give them a second life while combining them with her own work to fulfil a growing obsession with colour, texture and shape.
She completed a Bachelor of Illustration from North Melbourne Institute of TAFE in 2012 and has since exhibited in group shows, been published in print and online and worked on a number of collaborations while continuing to work on her own personal projects.
The imagery she creates is influenced by the power of colour, personal journeys, memory and how nature transcends. She likes to create work around the idea of place, new and old lands and the things that were here long before we were.
