After a time spent living close to the bush, wildlife has become common in my work. The influx of creatures, the serene beauty and mysterious night noises captured my imagination. I like to depict movement, a flash in time and a feeling like something is about to slip in or out of the shadows. Possibilities, routines, instincts, and the moment when things are held in balance before they go this way or that, moments of wonder…

A misty landscape to me has always been most fascinating so I like to use watercolour, acrylic and oil with multiple layers, washes and glazes to build up a similar mood in my paintings.

Making art is to me a way of understanding things in the way poetry can describe perfectly in not so many words. For this reason it continues to be an important part of my life, a constant questioning and an endless source of adventure.
