DELICATE MAYHEM: HOW DOES SHE DO IT? June 13 2012

Laura Jordan A.K.A Delicate Mayhem is the artist behind our breathtaking cityscapes. She has just launched two Hong Kong limited edition prints – Pekin View and Travelling up the Travelator, adding to her existing London, New York and Rio offerings. We love chatting to customers about Laura’s unique process which is documented below.

The prints are taken from large-scale original drawings (approx 118cm x 118cm), Laura draws a grid on the paper and pencils in the background and builds up with ink, she then applies collage which are from drawings she has done, scanned in and printed on tissue paper so they are quite textured. Laura then works with paints and glitter to embellish and highlight areas. With the Hong Kong works she did a lot of collage which was originally from digital photos which build up under the islands. The drawing take about two-three weeks and are done after about three months planning. When Laura puts pen to paper she knows exactly where everything is going.
